It's all about abstinence
I don´t know about you guys but American virgins made my blood boil. Now don´t get me wrong. If someone wants to wait until they´re married, that´s fine but why make children think sex is something nasty, terrible, and unforgivable? Because to me, that is what that was all about. Sex before marriage is a sin against God. If you have protected sex, you will still get A DISEASE. What a load of sh*t, if you ask me. Are we somehow filthy if we have sex before marriage? Children should be raised to know their sexuality, raised as sexual human beings. In my opinion, a 12 year old is not old enough to have sex but is old enough to know about sex. Sex education should be held in schools instead of scaring the kids with the most natural thing between human beings, or using kids as weapons in politics.
This is only my point of view. If someone agrees or disagrees, please do let me know. :)

LoL--"sexual instruction"?? :-)
But seriously, on the flip side, why do we fear abstinance? They are "different levels" to sexuality as well . . .
Interesting topic.

lol..hey, I´m finnish. I write what I´ve been taught... :D
I´m not afraid of abstinence. I think it´s cool if someone wants to wait. But it´s not for me. That document only showed how adults tried to make children wait. That is what annoyed me. They made sex look like it´s something bad, and you´ll get an awful punishment for having it.
Hey, I for one totally agree with you DF!'I think they should teach people all about about sex, not all about abstinance!
By the way, I don't fear abstinance either, but it's not a solution for the problem, it's trying to avoid the problem, which is not good.
i think kids need to know all the details...refraining from having sex is great babble, but it's not realistic anymore. sad, but true. my daughter is 12 and i'm tellin ya i'd flip out if i thought she was being sexed up by some lil kid....ggrrrr....education is the answer to alot of the questions...
